Hello All,

I'm getting great HDTV UHF receiption with my Coat-Hanger antenna but, as expected no VHF.

What would be a good antenna, if I am just worried about VHF channels 2-13? I plan on using an amp on the VHF side then combining both UHF and VHF with a Pico Macom UVSJ like this:

UHF Antenna

|

UVSJ -------------Power Supply Inside--> TV

|

Mast Amp

|

VHF Antenna

TvFool Results

I'd like to get something for less than $100 (maybe a lot less), can mount in attic or "piggyback" on DirecTV with WineGard DS-1111.

I am currently thinking of following this how to

or purchasing a directional VHF. If I don't mind DYIing it would that

work at my signal levels?

What is your zip code?

Check to make sure you know which channels that used VHF for analog are now using them for digital. For example in New York Citry all of the low VHF analog now use UHF for digital and you only need a UVHF antenna that will receive channels 7-13 which is a lot smaller then an antenna that will receive LVHF channels 2-6,

26554 is the zip code, I think it's going to stay VHF because its in WV. Something about

low power transmitters and economic hardship. As far as I know they will continue to transmit on VHF.

Right, I already recieve WNPB-TV no problem with my homemade antenna.

I'd like to get:

WDTV-DT 5 (CBS)

WBOY-DT 12 (NBC)

WVFX-DT 10 (FOX and ABC)

That is it, I'm not worried about the grey and reds ones, they are too far away.

Thanks Falcon!

I was planning on using a separate antenna for WNPB.

Would there be any advantage to going with the VHF only HD-5030

over the HD-7015 considering I'm not going to be using it for

UHF reception?

Thanks

jesse

P.S. I'll try it w/o amp in attic first and go from there.
