Lowering Stewart Screen

404 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Ian B
I have a motorized Stewart LX 110 screen. It is hooked up to my Sony 10 HT LCD projector and lowers when the projector is turned on and raises when the projector turns off.

However, I would also like to use the screen to display slides, however, I have found no way to lower the screen, and keep it down, without leaving the projector on (which wears on the lamp and illuminates the screen somewhat).

Any suggestions would be much welcomed.

Ian,

I'm not sure what voltage your screen trigger takes, but you might be able to get an x10 controller to trigger it.

See if this will work http://www.smarthome.com/2010.html use it to trigger the screen instead of the projector. You can then send x10 signal's to control the screen and it will become independant of the projector...

Hope this helps.

Dear Ian.

I have the exact same situation in my HT. In addition to the projectors output trigger, I wired a separate 12 volt, 800 mA wall wart which is on separate on/off switch. My flipping on the switch the 12 volt transformer powers the screen's down relay. When you received your screen one of these wall warts was included in the packing. If it was lost you can call the factory and they will be happy to send you one.

Regards,

Don
Ian,

If I were you I'd take Don's suggestion. http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/wink.gif After all, they are his screens. LOL!
Thanks everyone for your help!
