Hello everyone,

Am I right about this? Could the pleasure of watching on a LP340 be improved this way?

1) Gray Screen to get reasonable black level

2) Gamma control to pick the darkest shades a bit up

I know how to do step 1... but how to do step 2?

a) Buy DVD player with Gamma control. Which is good? Pana RV-80? Pioneer Elite? Anyone experienced with these? How is the gamma changed? Presets or fully free? RGB controls?

b) Buy HTPC. My GF would kill me.

c) Buy external Gamma Control - These seem to be really expensive or am I wrong? Is there a "cheap" solution to this? 100$-400$ range?

Please help me, I'm turning to the Projector Gods in here :)

A gray screen will make a very satisfying improvement with the LP340/350. Perceived contrast and black level will be noticeably improved. The gray screen and the RV80 IMHO is the best solution for DVD playback and with careful tweaking will give you a thrilling picture.
