Looking for SVGA projectors to hold me over until more 16:9 PJ's come out. Seems that Infocus has cut the price on the LP425zvb. Quite a few places selling new, factory sealed units for less than $1500. Not much came up on a search for this PJ. I was wondering if anyone has experience with it and is it worth $1500?

This is a good choice for $1500. www.projectorcentral.com has a review for LP425z and LP435 (XGA version) and it was favorable. Another consideration is the Canon LV5100 (SVGA, 700 lumens, $1795) or the Sony VPL-CX1 (XGA, 550 lumens, $1850). I bought the Sony for the XGA, 3 year warranty, cheaper/cooler/longer lasting bulb. I love my Sony projector for $1855 at www.electrified.com. Good luck with these choices as it's a tough one.

The LP425z is a good value. I have seen it new for as little as $1400. There are a lot of them on ebay right now, since it is being phased out.

For about $2500 you can get an Infocus LP340. The NEC LT150 has dropped to about 2700, with Alan Gouger of AVS offering it at this price. Either one of these is a better buy IMHO. But, for $1400 new, the LP425z is hard to beat.
