LPCM Player and Codecs?

I have a marantz sr4002 that does 7.1 LPCM. Now what player (Not the PS3) is best? For LPCM to get the best sound does the player have to decode everything internally then send out LPCM? Streaming is a no no right? I have read and read and just cannot get my head around the totaly picture of all methods of audio....I`m really looking at the 1500 right now. I`ll settle fopr no DTS-MA...

Here are your choices for LPCM 7.1 TRUE HD, DTS MA


Denon 3800

Marantz 8002

Sony S550

Panny BD-50

Pioneer '51 and '05(will have to wait for a future(?) firmware release) after player comes to market.


The Denon and Panny are available today.
