LT150 remote control goes to sleep

394 Views 9 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Don Black
I can turn on LT150 by the standard remote control and operate it smoothly afterwards. But after a period of time without using the remote control, it goes to sleep. It never wake up no matter how close I place the remote control to the projector. I have to turn off LT150 by pressing the power button on the projector. I have changed the battery in the remote control but the problem can't be solved.

Any LT150 user experiences the same situation? I'm placing LT150 in a hushbox. It is very inconvenient if I can't use the remote control.

Try Instacare warranty service. New one is only $40 anyways. Borrow someone else's and see if it's the remote or your unit. Other option is use serial control codes via HTPC.
Thanks Huey for your reply.

I would like to clarify one point. The remote control never wake up before LT150 is turn off by the button at the projector. After LT150 is off, it seems to reset the control circuit and then remote control works again. I will do more tests.
You might want to try another battery.

Have you ever been able to turn the projector off with the remote? When it "sleeps" can you access the menu?

After it sleeps, I can't turn the projector off with the remote nor access the menu. I've replaced the existing battery with a new one after it sleeped. But it didn't work. My hushbox is transparent that doesn't affect the remote. I will try to find when the remote sleeps after it hasn't used.
I don't know if this could be the problem, but I have experienced similar issues. My remote occasionally isn't able turn off the projector using the macro I programmed. This has turned out to be because the "power off confirmation" check-box becomes unchecked somehow. Checking this box again allows me to turn off the projector using the macro or directly using the remote.
Hi Tim,

Do you mean the projector can't be turned off via PC control occasionally?
The remote worked normally within 15 minutes(on, off & menu). Then I watched a movie (say 2 hours) and I didn't use the remote within this period. After that, I found the remote can access the menu but can't turn the projector off. That's different from yesterday's situation that the remote can't access the menu nor off the projector.

It seems that there is bug in the control circuit rather than the problem of transmission between the remote and the projector.
CKL,

No, I am not using the serial control cable for normal operation. I just find that sometimes I cannot turn off the projector with the remote because the confirmation box becomes unchecked. So it is a problem with the projector and not the remote
My remote conks out occasionally as well. It usually starts working again after 10-15 presses.
