I remember watching Star Wars in the theaters back when I was a kid and looking forward to the Obi-wan & Darth Vader fight. I remember thinking that it was super cool.

I remember watching Star Wars Special Edition rerelease in the theaters (yes the one where Hans shoot second) and looking forward to the lightsabre fight. I still think it's quite cool but I thought that Lucas fcuked it up big time by missing this bit in the CGI - whenever you see Darth Vader using his lightsabre you don't see the reflection of the sabre on his shiny black outfit particularly his helmet!

Now flash forward to SW: Attack of the Clones. The lightsabre sequence where Anakin fights Count Dooku is more realistic because you see the light play on them - their faces, costumes and eyes.

Out of all the changes that Lucas had made so far in the original trilogy, I wish that he would change this bit. It's not that hard to do, considering that ILM still has the original costume - they could scan everything to get the digital map of the costume and apply CG lightsabre on the costume as reflections. Darth Vader would finally look supercool.

Don't get your hopes up, from what I have read he does not make the transformation until the end of the movie.

No, I'd rather tell this to Lucas himself and I'm sure he'll want to tinker it to make it perfect. It's the only thing in the original trilogy that snaps me back to reality!

I will be disappointed.
LOL! Like that's a shock to anyone. Considering you're the guy who called Lucas a no talent hack, and thinks TPM and AOTC are pure ****, why should anyone expect you not to be disappointed? I don't even know why you would bother to see Episode III.

What a venemous, hateful, mean-spirited reply. Someone says he'll be disappointed if we don't get to see much of Darth Vader in the next SW film--a sentiment shared by many SW fans--and you have to dredge up old unrelated arguments. Grow the heck up and get over it. Move on instead of inciting. You turn into a caricature every time SW comes up.

getting back to the subject of new things to change, i just watched Empire tonight and for the first time noticed a few whopping holes that need to be addressed pronto.

like after the Falcon feints an attack against the star destoyer, and the imperial crew thinks they've lost it

Captain Needa says that he will go apologize to Vader personally.

yet the way the movie plays out, all we see is a shuttle in transit, and boom!

Needa drops to the floor "apology accepted..."

this has to be some of the absolute worst editing ever.

i hope Lucas addresses that in the next revision.

where are the shots of Needa walking to the shuttle?

getting on the shuttle... the shuttle docking on Vaders ship...

Needa getting off the shuttle?

how are modern audiences supposed to follow the cutting the way it is now?

it just doesn't make any sense.

is Needa on Vaders ship or is Vader on Needas shuttle?

this needs to be clarified.

I always thought that Darth would have had much more impact if he'd been wearing say, some pink leg warmers, you know like in Flash Dance, and maybe a couple other accessories (but tasteful of course, you shouldn't over do that kind of thing.)

Flashdance came out much later. And Darth came out much much later. So it's inconceivable that Lucas could've planned it all out in time.

But of course, he could CG that in with the lightsabre reflection effects.

No offense, is it really that serious..Sometimes I find it hard to believe no one can just sit back and enjoy these movies for what they are..

Do we really need to see Needa walking here and there to get to vader? The point was that Needa went to apologize to Vader. I don't think that the editors wanted to waste film showing how Needa got to Vader...not that important imo.

I don't think its sounds venemous and hateful. I don't want to put words in terrell's mouth, but it sounds like he is just implying that peter0302 has not seen a minute of ROTS and he is already disappointed.

In every thread even vaguely related to SW, Terrell finds an excuse to poo-poo anyone who's mentioned certain preferential dislikes regarding the franchise. He didn't say "Peter, we can't really judge it til we see it," but instead dragged in other unrelated things from other unrelated SW threads to imply that Peter's just a "Star Wars hater" or somesuch foolishness and therefore imply that his opinion is completely biased and not valuable. This isn't the first SW thread Terrell has crapped such implications in nor is Peter the first SW fan Terrell has made such implications about. I may well be taking it too seriously but I'd just love to be able to read SW threads on AVS without Terrell's incessant posts trying to belittle people's opinions for being different from his own. It's puerile and, after the fifty-billionth time, grates on one's nerves.

Legwarmers? I don't think Darthie would have been caught dead in 'em. Maybe socks with the individual toe sections though...
I dunno. Pink would be a good colour for him. If not legwarmers, how about a fuzzy pink workout headband? With a matching spandex codpiece? I think it would send the message, [insert throaty Darth voice] "I am both evil, and secure in my masculinity."

I know. Look at the keen fashion sense Darth Maul had, with all that fetching red and black. It's just fabulous. It must have taken hours for him to get dolled up like that, and yet for all his trouble no one in that film complemented him. Not once did the Emperor say, "Nice makeup today, Maul, you look very pretty." Not a single Jedi complemented him on his perfume. It's just so disheartening, I'm surprised he got out of bed in the morning.
