My 7 year old Mini has finally died. What's the current state of the art for multipoint CMS? The 2143 seems like way more than I need for my setup. Are there any more reasonably priced alternatives?

Nope. I'd contact Lumagen directly. Perhaps they can repair or swap the board out for you. And are you sure it isn't the power supply?

They want $700 to repair it and in my book a 7 year old Mini has depreciated beyond that. It's dead, Jim.

I wanted this device for better upscaling/deinterlacing and the multi-point CMS tweaks. The cheapest Lumagen today has only HDMI inputs so that severely limits its usefulness in upscaling to me. I'd like component inputs to upscale legacy equipment. Since they don't seem to make a unit that has analog inputs anymore that reduces my interest to well below the asking price. The Mini was cheap enough that I could live with it being only HDMI, but the incremental improvement provided by what's still being manufactured is something I can live without. I'm sure the money I save will give me more bang for the buck if spent on other components in the chain considering the way technology keeps advancing.

You might be surprised. I went from a Mini to a 2020. The Mini's 3D LUT was 5x5x5, while the 2020's is 9x9x9, and the later ones are even bigger. Makes a big difference in picture quality. The later ones also include the Darbee functionality. Sometimes CurtPalme.com offers B-stock and demo units after big shows (CES...) for a significant discount. Might be worth a look there!

Yeah, that's definitely a big part of why I'm not interested in blowing $700 to fix the mini. I was already running it with a home-made cooling fan to stop it from overheating due to the 9x9x9 upgrades. But the 21xx series has been out since 2014. They want a lot of money for 6 year old technology.

Six years old or not, to do what they do with their components isn't cheap to implement. The boys in the "MadVR Envy" thread down in the Video Processors area are finding that out...

Bought a mini in 2015 to pair with my Sony HE55ES and out of the blue yesterday, it won't display any picture. I actually thought the issue was with the projector and HDI but by bypassing Lumagen - I get the picture.

The green light is ON on the Lumagen mini but there's no display - can someone help/guide?
