I need some help

I may just have to go the monitor route, but I thought I would try hooking my mac mini up to my Sony KP-61HS30 rear projection TV using SwitchResX.

I have the Crescendo transcoder (DVI to VGA -> to the transcoder -> component output to TV) and all the needed cables.

I also have the Apple S-Video adapter so I can at least see the screen while making changes to SwitchResX.

While in S-Video, I would mess around with what I thought were proper resolution custom settings in SwitchResX and then switch out the s-video cable to VGA and would get a mess of a screen - repeated this many times experimenting with various resolutions for 480P from off these forums.

I am not out for anything fancy and would be just happy with 480p or any resolution that I can view through VGA that is half-way crisp (better than S-Video). I am unsure what custom SwitchResX settings I should use now for the Sony KP-61HS30. I am posting in hopes that someone has worked with this older model before.
