Making your own screen

401 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  tofu2
I just aquired a GE Imager 601. Any suggestions on making my own screen? What a good size is, how people handle different formats, brightness and materials tips would all be appreciated. I'm a newbie here.

Thanks!

Well, it's 26 pages long. But there looks to be a very good paint formula to use, and some other tips for making your own screen in this thread.

The DIY activity for screens is almost entirely in the screens forum . You will have a much better audience for your questions there. Many of us have built DIY screen using a wide variety of materials, you will get quite an education by browsing through past threads. You will even find a thread where I described the screen I built using a homemade frame and commercial Vutec screen material.

Your needs will be similar to many of us owning a CRT projector. You will have plenty to read. Do not get distracted by the threads talking about gray screens, they are for LCD and DLP projectors that need help with black levels. Us with CRT's have no problem with black and are usually looking for a screen with a bit of gain.
I appreciate it :) The screens section is indeed full of info.
