Managed Copy in the near future???

The following article makes it sound as if managed copy is on the horizon for both High Definition Disc formats.

I was under the impression based on comments in the insider thread that managed copy was a HDDVD only function. and Blu-Ray was not supporting this capability.


Anyone know more about this?

wasn't that the deal if blu-ray supported managed copy then HP would pick them up and use them in there computers.

Managed copy was a function of AACS which both formats support. However, with the idea of managed copy is now pretty much obsolete with the invention of "unmanaged copy"

I'll take unmanaged copies, FTW, Alex?......
Yeah, but BD+ supposedly will prevent you from making unmanaged copies. At least for a few hours after the 1'st disc with BD+ becomes avaliable.
