Anybody here tried running DVI from the new Marantz DV8400 DVD player to a Fujitsu P50?

Looking for feedback on PQ, both DVI and component and overall sound in stereo.

I'm thinking of buying it but want to be certain that the video is at least as good as my Panny RP56 and audio is at least as good as my trusty Marantz CD-67SE.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

A quick check in the DVD Players forum (hint hint) shows that

the 8400 doesn't seem to be available yet in the states. At

least nobody has admitting to buying one. There is some

noise about the DVI output not being enabled yet.

Thanks for the subtle hint Larry. The reason I posted here is that my main interest is the the DVI going into the P50.

And yes, you are right, they are shipping with the DVI not activated so I will just delete the post.

Thanks!

You probably can't delete it. :) Unless you want DVD-A/SACD you'll probably

be paying a pretty good price for the disproportionate increase in PQ

over your RP56 (assuming it's equal the xp30). Unless of course

the 8400 is some incredible increase in PQ over the other "budget" DVI

output players.

Yup. I'll just have to look like a jerk for a few days until it gets buried.

Agreed. The RP-56 does have the Faroudja chip set and looks very good.

No rush. I can wait. Thanks for your help!
