I am curious about this integrated amp as id like to try out the warm marantz sound. I have b&w cm10s and a svs sb1000 sub running on entry level yamaha avr.  The only problem is, how could i connect my subwoofer to it??! I dont see lfe, i just see pre outs for a "recorder"??  If not this  model then maybe a peachtree decco65? Anything else i should consider? want an all in one solution with digital inputs so i can airplay or usb in.

I suggest that you consider the Music Hall 15.3 amplifier, which is excellent. It has preout jacks to use for a subwoofer.

You can't use "record out" jacks for a subwoofer because they are fixed; the volume control does not affect them.

It should sound a whole lot nicer than any Yamaha AVR.

For a DAC, get the Audioengine D1, which has USB and optical inputs.

Thanks! So it looks like the music hall does have a sub pre out. AM i just using the audioengine solely for the inputs? Or will the dac improve the sound over the music hall dac?

The 15.3 amplifier does not have any digital inputs or an integral DAC.

You need to use a separate DAC if you have sources that are digital.

The Audioengine D1 DAC has optical and USB inputs and its analog outputs will connect to one input of the amplifier.

Thanks again. This may be a dumb question, but the USB slot on that dac is square like the kind on printers, not rectangular like one end on my ipad lightning cable . If I get an adapter should my ipad be able to connect? Am I missing something by using ipad vs laptop or a music server for 320 bitrate mp3 ?

Since I do not yet have a bluray or cd player, should I opt for the oppo 103 ? Or do you feel it would be essentially the same as the d1 but more $$?
