It seems super flexible and the small size makes it easy to recommend to friends who aren't used to full size audio components.The main problem that I have with the NR1200 is that it does not play back native DSD. It first converts to PCM then goes through the DAC. I do not know if the PM7000 does this also or not.

The PM7000N is probably better compared against the upcoming Onkyo 8390, which has a bigger amp (200 BS marketing watts per channel, 135 actual 8 ohms full range 0.08% THD) AccuEQ and pre-outs for around the same price.
I have an Integra DTM-7 (rebadged 8270) and I've been generally happy with it but it's been almost 2 years so upgrade-itis is creeping in. please elaborate.. I'm not set at all on this unit. My speakers will be the Kef Ls50. I want to sit on the couch , open up the heos app and stream some Hd music from amazon. I don't want to leave a pc running and i don't have a Nas . Sure all Denon and Marantz and now some onkyo receivers will do this, but they all have Hdmi, which I have no need for . I'm also leaning towards the Nr-1200 but again has hdmi.. Who woulda thought that good old stereo would have so many optionsThree are others that are less expensive with more features.

I agree, but with a $1000 unit, you should be hooking up speakers that are $2000 or above.Anything with HDMI is more on the "home theater" side of the house.
The PM7000N is basically a PM7005, only with digital streaming built into it. You're still getting the better grade components like you do in the PM line.
