My Ehome 8500 (build 1998) has mint tubes (looks as new), but I feel It's time for an upgrade.

It got the anamorphic mod, LVPS and belly fan is replaced with Papst low noise fans. And color filtered R+G (Rosco).

The 8500 is modified by TAN, and has black covers and some parts from newer Ultras (Software v4.1)

What would be the best way to upgrade to an 9500LC?

1. Sell my tubes, and upgrade my 8500 to an 9500LC?

2. Sell my 8500, and buy an light used 9500LC?

The best choise regarding cost?

Considering your location, chances are you'll get top dollar for the 8500 there. Then seek a 9500LC here in North America.

I guess 3500-4000USD is fair price here in Norway for the 8500.

btw; Checked your site, has the 9500LC Ultras arrived? ;)

Trying to upgrade your 8500 to a 9500LC will be an exercise in frustration.

I'm not saying you'll never get the LC assemblies, but you'll have to buy a 9500LC to get them.

I can get all the parts needed (with HD-10L lenses) for total $5500, witch include new tubes (not rebuilt).

And to think I managed the exact same trick for a grand total of $1100, including the projector that got upgraded.... and yes, NEW tubes.

Man, I'd sure like to land that deal again!

5500 sounds reasonable. Not exactly cheap, but reasonable.
