I had to change a faulty HDM board on my pj, I purchased the replacement in Germany.

The pj has been used sofar utilizing the Horizontal HiBand (65Khz)Yesterday I wanted to test a Low band setup (32Khz).

The raster width with this setup is very small (about 1inch from tube sides)

and there is no way to increase it.

Hsize command works from 0 to 27,increasing that value the image doesn't

expand.

This is the case with external source and also with internal frequency

generator.

I've been told by the person (Company) who sold me the module that

is normal and for next questions I have to refer to those who sold me

the pj,maybe forgetting that after all I've purchased from him a 700 Eu

used module leaving to him the old :(

At 3,20 mts straight line (pj-screen),the maximum width I can achieve is

1,80 mts.

I think this is not normal

Any suggestion ?

Thanks

Sir

You should have just as much width available at 32khz, your source there is mistaken. If you have the first HDM that failed, try moving the small signal board from that HDM onto the new one if it is the same foil layout number (50-xxxx-xx) you could have a bad DAC on that.

Thanks Tim,

No I do not have the faulty HDM,because,as written in my post

I left it to the seller of the "new" one, anyway the layout was different,

it seems that the old one was not a 8500 board but a 8000 board.

Would You concentrate your attention to the small signal board ?

Just note that in HiBand I have all the necessary width, that is not

the case in LowBand (tested on all steps of internal frequency settings).

Thanks

The small signal board was an easy thing to try if you had one; width is set thru DACs and you may have a bad one; it would require scoping the board during adjustment to see what is wrong and that is tricky to do. Can you test that HDM in another Marquee? Perhaps Andrea Manuti can assist you.
