I am looking to check the belly fans on my Marquee,


How do they come out?

Do I need to take the side panel off and slide out the tray?


I want to take them out and add some noise dampening material.

Hi Steve,


You've got to take the tubes out to get to them (unless there's a way to get at them from the bottom). Remove the panel beneath the tubes and then you can pull the fans out on their tray.

I THINK you can take the fans out by removing the bottom plate. (I've never done it, but you can at least get access to them that way)

I have been having Great fun with my projector, Thanks once again.

The 8111+ is really my learning machine anyway, my 9500LC is the real deal.

I hope to modify the 8111+ then Modify the 9500LC with the best mods.

Steve, you've pretty much got it apart anyway! I would check to see if you can get to the fans from underneath. Since I messed with my fans when the tubes were out, I never really looked that hard for an alternate way to get at them.


Otherwise, those tubes just lift right out and there you are.

The bottom panel came off on my Ehome 8500. If your PJ is already ceiling mounted then you have problems! Tim recommends that you tape the fan wires off to the side (to prevent them from falling into the fans).

I will look at both options, as this will be ceiling mounted early next week, so I want to check the wiring loom position.


I am looking at adding sound insulation, will post some pics once I am happy with the results.

I estimate that you're about 30 screws from having the tubes removed, and then 6 more screws away from having the fans totally exposed.

Am putting mine back together right now.

Steve, I used compressed air to clean the belly fans. No insulation yet, had thought about it but never got around to buying the right type of insulation. Considered "dynamat" but it's a little expensive. Will secure the loom after it's ceiling mounted!


Well, it's all together again now, so it's time to turn it on and see if she still works.

A Question about the Bottom plate on my 8111+,

I have 1x grill in the middle of the projector base,


Is there any advantage in removing the whole plate where the fan tray sits?

I would replace it with a full length grill rather than the small single grill.



I have seen somewhere that the whole width of this plate is grill !

Looks good; some folks just tape the wires to the sheet metal crosspieces from beneath.

Can you comment on the bottom plate holes?

I have 1x grill hole in the middle,

Should I remove the grill and expose the 3x holes in the bottom plate?


I have a grill ready to cover all 3x holes if required.


I found a photo the Chris Stephen took the grill OFF completely, Is this wise?


Would it effect the cooling or noise of the fans?
