I report this cause it could be of help to some Marquee's owners.

Raster centering on my Marquee has been done always adjusting

the focus coil (magnet).

I had an annoying drift on the red grid, the red hor lines were moving

down by abt 1cm. (on my 230cm-base screen) in the first hour,to almost

stabilize later.

I did everything I knew in order to solve the problem, even changing

the LVPS and convergence board, changing the caps of the latter etc

with no avail.

Then, even if not necessary (the raster was perfectly centered and alligned

with the others) I just moved the red focus coil barrel repositioning the raster to the previous position.

Well, after 3 weeks I did it the drift has completely gone :)

Congrats, Mauro. That was a problem that plagued me with my red also, but blue never seemed to have a problem.

What was your "previous" position?

...for previous position I mean the exact position I had before,....

so practically the barrel was move around its axis and readjusted

to have the same raster position as before, that's why I say

"dilemma",theoretically it should be in the same position as before,

but it worked :)

Hi,

I have the same problem with my 9000.

Is this right so:

You give the Marquee the time to warm up - the convergence is than ok - and than you move the barrel around its axis so that the convercece ist still ok?

Or do you move the barrel when the marquee is still powerd up, so that the covercence is ok after you move the barrel?

Thanks

Never heard of anyone centering the raster with the focus coil.

Did I understand you correctly???

Well Roland,

You do not touch indeed the focus coils but the magnet that is in the same

housing.

But how do you center your image with that?

The magnet is there to focus the beam. Ideally (when the CPC magnets are setup perfectly) the focus magnet should have no influence on the raster position, except of parasitic effects and you should never use parasitic effects to adjust something else.

If you tilt the focus magnet (i do not mean turning the magnet around the neck) this will change the raster position but will also result in astig error and the image shifting with varying focus.

Don't the Marquees have extra centering magnets???

Roland,

no,there aren't other centering magnets.

That is the only one.

To have a good raster centering and no flare,You have first to adjust

the CPC magnets (2 pole) in order to have no flare and a no-moving

image from over to under focus.

Than You center the raster moving the barrel of the focus coil around

its axis.

You reiterate between the two regulations to obtain the best result.
