I have some heavy DuveTyne material left over after covering (the inside of) my RPTV. Would this be a good material for masking for my FP screen?

It should work pretty well, I'm not too familiar with DuveTyne, but it's been widely used to line the inside of RPTV's by DIY'ers (as you've found out). If it is suitable for that, it should also work for FPTV masking.
