Master & Commander which was supposed to be released on Feb. 5th has been further delayed until June so it can be included in a father's day promotion.

I guess they should be happy that fathers day is not celebrated (or maybe it is?) in Europe, because they got all of their movies on time.

Good. The M&C release from EU is abysmal. Mediocre PQ.

It needs a new transfer.

So don't be too disappointed. You will thank FOX later.

Who says this will be a new transfer?!? The article simply states it is being bundled with other Blu Ray movies for Father's Day. They delayed Cast Away forever and when it finally came out it was the same exact movie that it would've been had it come out when it was supposed to. I seriously doubt it is in any way shape or form getting a new transfer, but instead it is being bundled so that Fox can syphon even more money out of the consumer when it is released. It is a Fox Exec thinking "Hey, people REALLY want this movie, how can we force people to spend MORE money to get it?"

Just one more example of Fox proving it is the WORST Hi Def studio (well, except maybe no show Weinstein).

Just like Predator and Commando are getting new transfers on their 25GB MPEG2 discs.. Fox sucks and they wont redo it until everyone has bought the first edition.

Trust me. I saw the recent release from EU. Its not something I will get excited about.

I am also disappointed when this was delayed last year. According to FOX its due to "technical difficulties". Ok fine as long as we get a decent PQ.

Then I saw the EU version

Fox is just recycling their DTheater masters for catalogs on Blu-ray.. Have any catalogs come out that didn't make it to DTheater?

Fox release dates are an absolute joke. If they delay "Me, Myself and Irene again I am really going to get pissed.

So we have to buy the bundle to get it ! If so we should all toss the other titles at the store door in disgust. This had better be worth the wait.

I think it is just a group of movies released on the same day, not an actual bundle, guess we will have to wait and see.

BTW, no love for the Sand Pebbles? Not even to see the origination of 'Rain Man'? Or Candace Bergen when she was hot?

Fox..1) Charges more money than any studio for catalog releases.

2) Seriously cuts out extras on the releases.

3) Delay, Delay, Delay.

4) Gives no valid reason for delays and releases the same movie transfer that was originally to be released.

Forget buying the bundle and tossing the other movies in disgust, that teaches them no lesson because they already got your money. Hollywood listens to one thing only : Money.

Teach them a lesson, don't buy the bundle, make it and all their crappy releases a flop, reward their good releases by buying them (The Simpsons), this will teach them the lesson that they have to make it actually worth your while to buy their Blu Rays.

GRRRRRRRR!!!!!

While I know the EU transfer is not very good, is it better than the SD DVD? I'm kindof an uberfan of this movie. SO annoyed.

Foxed again! It's comical....what a bunch of bozos. Father's Day promotion my ass. When the delay of Battle of Britain & Bridge Too Far was announced for a possible promotion in June, they had already delayed M&C for "technical reasons" and wait until just now to announce that M&C is part of the same promotion? Like I've said before, it's all part of their Game to string potential buyers along to maximize profits AND as a bonus keep potential customers in the Blu-ray fold; they have no intention of fullfilling these releases when they announce them.

Wait until March & April and see how many of those hi profile titles actually make it to the stores.
