In partnership with ESPN 3D, Cox Communications announced today that Cox Advanced TV Plus customers will have the option to view coverage of the Masters Golf Tournament on April 11-14, 2013 on the new ESPN 3D.

Why the limited coverage compared to last year?

In 2012 they had 3D on the complete back nine with, if I remember correctly, 28 3D cameras.

This year, just the last four holes with nine cameras.

The picture quality is excellent (SBS 1080i with an LG Cinema 3D) on Sky in the UK, but for once I prefer to stick with the 2D coverage until all the last group reaches the 15th hole.

I agree there should have been more camera's and holes covered, but the depth was great as was the pic. I too waited for the final groups to come into the 15th hole. hopefully they can go back to full back nine coverage next year. Btw watching on direct tv

Last years coverage was a mix of 2d & 3d cameras. This years coverage was all 3d (live coverage) until they did the playoff on the 10 hole. ESPN has been using a mix of cameras of late in there coverage and it has got a little watered down to bring more events in 3d. The college football coverage sucked until the bowl games. The best is The Masters and X games then basketball. Hopefully they will get more 3d cameras for better coverage overall.
