I have a Matinee 1HD and a Pioneer VSX-45TX. Right now I have my panasonic dvd player hooked up directly to the projector with a component video cable. I am about to upgrade to an HDTV satellite receiver and was wondering if I could just use component video from the sat receiver and from the dvd player into my Pioneer receiver and then use the component monitor out to my projector. Actually, I know I can do this, but will video quality suffer for watching either dvd or hdtv by going through the receiver and letting it switch between the sources? If so, any recommendations for a component video switcher that is designed for this? Any cheap ones I should say.

Thanks,

Ron

Well, any cheap switcher is going to yield about the same quality (or worse) as your Pioneer can do. I use my Denon receiver as a component switch and there's no problem. Go for it.
