Matrix: Ultimate vs. Complete

Sorry for the new thread, but there are a few Matrix threads already about different topics and I just wanted to get the quick low-down on the difference between these two collections.

So Ultimate has the films PLUS all of the extras while Complete has all the films and that's it?

Since I have all 3 films on DVD already + The Animatrix, will I already have all the extras on the Ultimate Collection? Also, does the Ultimate release have any extras in HD? To me, the extras are not worth buying unless they are in HD.

Thanks, any help would be appreciated.

The Ultimate HD extras are the same ones that were in the Ultimate SD set. They are not HD, since they were probably filmed in video. Both the Ultimate and Complete have extras in the form of IME on the movie discs, but it's probably stuff that is presented on the other discs.
Yes, the Complete Matrix Trilogy still has the IME features on the movie discs, it just doesn't have the 2 extra bonus feature DVDs.......but since you already have them with your other set, no worries.
Okay, thanks guys, I'll just get the Complete collection. All I really want are the films anyway as I think I overdosed on Matrix extras the first time around! eapleitez, you are right that most of them were shot on video, probably DV actually. I was thinking that perhaps they made some new HD features with interviews, etc., but sounds like it's just a re-packaging.
Held both in my hands and now that I have I am going to get

COMPLETE

Reason being I already have the 30+ hours of special features on DVD and since they are not upgraded at all (not even Animatrix) it is a simple decision.

Save your money and get the complete set.
i ALSO JUST GOT THE COMPLETE SET ALL THE EXTRAS ARE WITH THE STANDARD DAY BOX SET WHICH I ALREADY HAVE. THE ANIMATRIX CAN BE DOWNLOADED WITH XBOX LIVE, WITH THE COMPLETE SET YOU GET A CODE SO YOU ARE ENTITLED TO FREE XBOX LIVE ANIMATRIX DOWNLOAD ( HAVE HEARD NOT SURE).

Animatrix on live? Is it in 720p there? (I doubt it)

I know i would never sit through all those hours of extras so decided that the Complete set was fine for me.Depends on how much the extras mean to someone.

@Scitek, I've tried using my code to download the Animatrix from Xbox Live but only get a code error.Others have had the same problem as well.We are pretty sure that it won't be available for download until the 22nd which is the official release day.
I'm ordering the Complete, and gonna put the discs into the Ultimate SD case I already have. If Animatrix was in HD, I would've ordered the Ultimate HD and sold the SD set. I hope Warner releases a standalone animatrix HD in the future.
Well, the Matrix is NOT in HD on the Xbox marketplace, so I see no reason to believe Warner will put the Animatrix in HD. Unless they are waiting for the 22nd to add a HD Matrix to marketplace, then maybe we will get it.

My ears hurt from all that yelling.
Haven't seen this answered yet, but given that the Complete edition comes with single sided discs and the Ultimate comes with flippers, does that mean that the Complete edition discs have nice silk-screened images on them that the Ultimate discs lack? Anyone with pictures?

Yep. Picture #245.
Hmm, that's definitely a point in favor of the Complete edition. Thanks.
