I just purchased almost all of my stuff to build my dedicated htpc . I still have one piece of equipment to buy and that's the video card. While ATI and NVidia seem to be the contenders, I was wondering about the Matrox line of cards. (G550 and up)
They don't seem to be favored much. I don't plan on gaming. All I want is to surf the net on my monitor and watch DVD's and maybe a little tv on my BG800 crt projector. I want good resolution plus the ability of the card to integrate well with most of the htpc software. (powerstrip, windvd , DScaler, zoom player etc.) I was just wondering if these cards are powerfull enough. The 550 only has 32mb of memory while the P650/750 have 64 mb's. BTW Parhelia is out of my league $$$ wise. Any opinions?
