greetings all ..

i am looking for the definitive answer to the following ...

what are the maximum cable runs in feet (no baluns/modulators/etc) that i can run from my distribution center (closet !) to my components in various rooms without loss of signal (audio/video)

RCA Connectors:

audio (red/white)

video (yellow, Y/Yb/Yr)

(RG-6 cable)

S-Video:

S-Video Cable

S-Video (RG-6)

i am aware of the various equipment available for signal boosting .. but desire to keep the budget low (if possible)

all help is appreciated

thanx

You should be able to run RG-6 pretty much as far as you want for both audio and video. I think 300 feet is max but I'm not sure. Standard S-video cable can be run about 25 feet. Bluejeans Cable ( http://bluejeanscable.com/ ) sells one that uses Belden 1808 cable (smaller than RG-6) for runs up to 50 ft for about $80. They also have cables that break out to two BNCs and use RG-6 for longer runs.
