I want to get a Global Cache iTach (to be used with iRule software I think).

Since several equipment will require an IR emitter to get the IR signal, I was wondering if there is a maximum length for the wire of the IR emitter?


Extending the standard cable should be easy (I guess, it looks like very basic cable), but I want to maje sure it will work.

you can split it the emitter cable with cat5 (just use 2 wires) and go long distances depending on how good the hardware can push the IR. that is the cheapo way of extending it and it works great with the right hardware.
