I downloaded a copy of MCE2005 from MSDN, so I don't have the MCE remote control. But I do have USB UIRT and girder, which I am currently using for my HTPC.


Before I reformat my HTPC and install MCE2005, I would like to know if it will work with USB UIRT + girder combo? I need girder because it's controlling stuff like suspend/resume, and turning my TV on/off. Thanks.

There is a MCE remote plug-in for Girder. And I believe MCE responds to keyboard shortcuts so I don't see why Girder couldn't at least emulate keystrokes.


At this point, I think the best source of info on MCE is thegreenbutton.com. I have MCE 2k5 in the mail right now so I've been trying to read everything there is about MCE.

I use the iMON remote and I've been struggeling with the MCE2005 MyTV setup and I can't get it to work. It refuses to accept satelite STB input on svideo1 unless you have the MS remote....... I.e. I think that you HAVE to have the MS remote if you wanna use a STB. Grrrrr.


Anyone who knows a retailer that will deliver the remote to Sweden...
