Sorry if this has been asked before, but I have been searching for 2 hours and still haven't found anything.

1. How do I force MCE2005 to use overlay instead of VMR9 for DVD and videos?

2. And is there a way to zoom in on the video (overlay or VMR9) for overscan/underscan correction? I am using a DLP projector and the video doesn't quite fill the screen. I am surrently using a Radeon 9800 Pro which doesn't have overlay zoom controls like the NVidia drivers. Thanks.

Hi there, AFAIK here is the beef.

1. You can't. MCE uses a highly modified and tightly integrated version of VMR7.

2. Not that I am aware of.

i am not an expert... but i think what you are looking for is controled by the codec that you are using for decoding.

I know for a fact that using the new nividia dvd codecs that i bought just the other night, i was able to change MCE 2005 from running in "overlay" to vmr9, even tried VMR7 for a bit.

the control pannle for the nvidia codec is only visiable in the task bar while you are playing a mpeg file.

I saw those options in the Nvidia codec control panel, but none of them seemed to work. Maybe because I am using an ATI card? I can live with the VMR rendering, but not the underscan. I may have to go buy a 6800 GT now! Thanks for the help.
