Anyone heard these? The columns of midranges is quite impressive looking. No one ever talks about McIntosh speakers. Do these things cost more than my house or something?

I heard the XRT29 this past weekend. I was at the audio shop, noticed the listening room was empty so sat down for a while.


They are physically big and imposing -- bigger than any other planar speaker I've seen.


Soundstage was impressive -- very large, three dimensional and vibrant. That's my main impression: a superb soundstage. I didn't listen for long periods or try different material.


If you have plenty of space they're worth considering. However there are lots of good speakers at that price range (about 6x an Axiom M80).
