So, I believed -- for a long time -- that the Dell 2000FP, despite being 1600 x 1200, would not take HDTV. I posted it here at least once, probably more.
It does not take 1080i at all.
It does, however, take 720p and does a lovely job with it. This discover, sadly, is because my projector bulb blew last night and I am facing an HD-compatible display-free week.
The Dell is too small to really enjoy, but can be brought close. That's important because usability is low -- very low. No remote and you have to fiddle with a bunch of silly menus to go from 4:3 to HD and get the aspect ratios right.
With the Zenith 420, I can get HDTV by sending everything out at 720p. Thank heavens!
Anyway, I like to be publicly be wrong every once in a while to stay humble.
