OK, here's what I have right now:

Dish Network ViP622 HD DVR receiver.

Denon AVR-1705 A/V receiver.

Sony KDF-E50A10 50" rear projection TV.

Sony PlayStation 3 game console.

I want to get a new PC for the following uses:

Serve as media center in living room where TV is located.

Store music and photos.

Archive programs I record on the satellite receiver and want to save to DVD.

Archive old VHS tapes to DVD.

What the PC will not be used for:

Recording live or OTA TV (we don't get OTA where I live; I'm tied to satellite or cable).

Gaming (I have the PS3 for that).

I do not want to build an HTPC. I want to buy an off the shelf model, perhaps a Dell XPS 210 or an HP product. I've owned several Dells before, and I've always had good luck with them. I plan on running Vista Home Premium.

Here are my questions:

1. Do I need to get a high end graphics card for my uses, or will one of the ATI's that comes on the Dell (ATI Radeon X1300 Pro 256MB or ATI Radeon X1300 128MB) suffice for my purposes?

2. What about video capture? Card or USB device? I don't need a tuner, do I? Do any of the less expensive video capture devices have component inputs?

3. Any other suggestions, hardware or software?

Thanks.
