Having a problem running DVDs from Media Player Classic. They play (as does all other media types ) fine from the hard drive but when they play from the DVD drive Media Player Classic crashes once play is selected from the DVD disc menu.


Anybody had this fault before?

is it a retail disc with copy protection? i don't think mpc can decrypt css. try ripping to hard disk first using dvd decrypter or something similar.

Yes it is discs with copy protection, it works fine when ripped to hard drive.

I was hoping to be able to simplify my HTPC by just using one player. Are there any plugins/codecs etc that allowCopy protected DVDs to play fo Media Player Classic ?

Get a copy of AnyDVD, run it in the background while you are playing the Disc from your Drive. It will strip out the copy protection on the fly.
