My dedicated media room is finally "done" construction wise but now I need to start looking in to a projector and screen. I have full control of lighting in the room and no windows. I am looking at spending $4000-$5500 for both projector and screen. I have pretty large Definitive Technology speakers that will either go behind the screen or I will have to figure out how I will place the clr2500 center speaker below the screen.

I dont need a fancy auto masking screen and I am lost as to which gain and size I need for the room. I was thinking a 100'' - 110'' screen if it will fit right with the slope ceiling. I just randomly select movies to rent but they are all in different screen formats so I am not sure how the size to masking works with these screens.

For the projector i was thinking JVC but not sure what model; I am also open to other models. I see people refer to "B" stock but what is that (refurbished is different from b-stock) ?

What would you guys/girls recommend?

Usage:

1. Primarily 2D movies but I might branch out to 3D movies in the future.

2. Sports / Netflix / Amazon streaming

3. Very casual Xbox gaming

I'm going to recommend the JVC RS4810. I would contact AVS about their pricing and they could also recommend a screen for you.

Is the Darbee Darblet for the sports and gaming or is that just needed for all projector media?

I have a PS3 I use for my BluRay playing; what does the Oppo or Sony s790 do that my PS3 will not?

The Darbee Darblet is for all sources as it sharpens and enhances contrast with little to no negative side effects as long as used in moderation. I have an OPPO but the PS3 will also work great as a bluray player.
