My HTPC's MLB supports both DDR2 and DDR3 memory. Right now I have DDR3 in the system and it's working fine. But here's the dilemma. I just lost the MLB on my desktop system and need to replace it. It has DDR2, but I really don't want to buy a DDR2 MLB for that system, in fact don't even want another DDR2/DDR3 system like the HTPC has. So my question is will it hurt the HTPC's video/audio performance to put this DDR2 in it, then use the DDR3 out of it for the new PC? IIRC the DDR2 I have is 900mhz, the DDR3 is 1333. The HTPC is used only for playback, it does not serve as a media server, transcoder, etc.
