Hi Guys,

Currently, I am using the Proceed AVP2 with the following :-

Silverline Bolero FL/FR

Silverline Centrestage FC

Triad Inceiling Gold/6 RR/RL

M&K MX125 MK II

Proceed HPA 3

Meridian 557

Recently the AVP2 broke down after I moved to my new house, probably due to transportation.

I am considering an upgrade from the Proceed AVP2 as I want 5.1 inputs and also room correction. Both the new Meridian G68 and Lexicon MC12 have this function. Which unit is better? The G68 is very new and the MC12B is 3+ years old, is MC12B still a good match or maybe it might be replaced soon by a new model?

My usage would be 75% HT and 25% music.

Any comments would be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

Good luck finding finding something better then the AVP2! The Meridian will be better for music then the Lexicon but the AVP2 is better then both in terms of sound quality. You have very nice speakers and I would go with a nice analog preamp that has a HT loop and just get a cheaper processor. Both products have there volume in the digital domain where as the Proceed keeps the volume in the analog domain, That makes a difference for music listening. Meridian is a much better sounding processor then the Lexicon but it will not sound as good as the Proceed AVP2.

Lexicon has always used analog volume controls in the processors.

Hi,

I was just reading a post regarding McIntosh equipment, and a member there discussed the MC12-B they had for 3 years, and recently replaced it with the Meridian g series preamp and dvd player. He said it was out of this world compared to the Lexicon, which he had replaced with Meridian!

Good luck!
