last thursday night i just got mediagate mg-35 with 160gb hdd and i have enjoyed it every minute on or off network and i did upgrade a firmware to 1.44, but now i would like to add NDAS onto my pc so i can control mg-35 through ndas, but i do not have ndas device ID # or write key # for registering in ndas. there is no # on label under the device. how can i get them ?

please advise.

You can purchase the NDAS keys from the retailer that you bought the unit, or they will direct you to other source.

Or you can contact a technician in Brisbane call Keith and he is very helpful in getting the NDAS keys. His email is Keith L - Instep [[email protected]], and he can accept direct bank transfer for payment.

Usually the cost for getting the keys is around $25.
thanks geoffreyhan.

i ll ask him who sold me mg35 about ndas.

thanks.
I just got my MG35 and i have just organised the NDAS. Here is some info:

:) 1. You have to get a NDAS key and "write" key. This is based on the MAC address of the MG35 so it will be unique. ie you can't give your key to anyone else because their MAC address will be different. (a keygen would be nice if someone is willing to create it).

 2. You need to turn the NDAS setup selection ON in the MG35 player itself.

 3. The NDAS software will ONLY work on Windows XP. I've got mine working fine via a wired network. I don't know if Linux can get it to work or not. I hope Windows Vista will support it as well.

 4. You must have v1.4.3 or later of the firmware. As of writing this v1.4.4. is out.

 5. You will need to pay for this (AUD$25 which is about USD$20) because the NDAS is licensed of a 3rd party.

:( 6. Copying speeds WILL be slower since it will be going over the wire rather than directly through the USB2 port. This may not be a problem if you aren't copying many Gbs at a time, but you can always move it next to your computer if you have to.

Hope this helps some!

NDAS stands for Network Direct Attached Storage... which essentially mounts your MG35 as a hard drive in windows so you can read/write directly to it over the network. the disadvantage is it runs at 10mbps, so copying stuff to/from it is slow as testiballs... but no biggie if yer just copying a few files. instructions to setup the MG35 as an NDAS device, and the NDAS software are available here: http://www.airlinktek.com/english/at...keyfield=&key=
