Putting aside the microperf or not debate (assume you need to do microperf and place speakers behind the screen), and assuming you are doing a CIH screen, I have a question about speaker placement.

Do you place the LCR channels so they are NOT having to fire through the masking curtain when you are in 1.78/1.85 mode, or do you kick the speakers all the way to the edge of the screen (so the L and R channel WOULD have to fire through the masking curtain when you were in 1/78/1.85 modes)?

Is material acoustically-transparent enough (while also blocking enough light) available where sound degradation is not apparent?

Thanks!

Hey Ken,

Look at Seymour AV.

They are woking on masking panels as we speak that are AT.

The new screen material is great also.

This has been discussed several times and there are those of us that place our speakers just inside the 1.78:1 area, not only for the concerns you've raised, but also for the fact that you also want the sound to match for the smaller ARs down to at least 1.33:1.
