Microsoft Universal Xbox 360 Remote and Syntax Olevia

I have the Microsoft brand universal remote that came with the HD-DVD player and a Syntax Olevia 437v. I can't find a code that seems to work with it. I've tried the codes recommended by the Olevia website (LG, RCA, etc.) and the "scan" feature of the remote to no avail. Has anyone had success with this combo?
