I have a new Mac Mini and I completely forgot to order the mini to toslink adapter beforehand. I am looking to get this up and running ASAP. I would gladly order from Monoprice since the adapter plus shipping is under $3. However, it will take 2 weeks to arrive in Canada.


Any Canadian Mac folks purchase one of these at a local store?

I ran into this problem before, however I found one of my optical cables had the mini toslink adapters on the cable, attached by a clip, never knew what they where for until I needed to use them on the mac


Take a look at yours, some optical cables come with a set of mini adaptors, buying a new cable might be your quickest bet


best buy has what you need, look closely on the package you will see the mini to mini. its a more expensive route. you could also try a local audio video store, they might have one laying around, as they are accessories to a lot of cable packs

Check with Walmart and Home Depot, too--they're both in Canada, right? Here in the States I've seen both carry a Philips optical cable which included the mini-jack adaptors.

Thanks for the replies. I am trying to avoid buying a new cable.


For now I have connected the analog audio. I guess I will just wait the 3 weeks ship time from monoprice for digital.
