I am building a new house and have it wired for surround sound. I already have everything I need except for a good set of speakers. I have a JVC 888VBK receiver and need 5 small, white speakers that will mount on the wall plus a subwoofer. I was checking out the Bose Acoustimass 15 setup and it sounded great but a lot of people don't seem to like them. A local home theater store recommend the Mirage setup and they sounded good to for less money. Anyone have any thoughts on these or have better recommendations for preferably under $1,000?

Try the Boston Acoustics if anyone carries them in your area. I think you will like them better than the bose/mirage.

Also look into the Gallo Micro's. $750 for 5 without a sub, but the sound is great especially for the size/price. They (Anthony Gallo Accoustics) also have a passive sub for $400 or powered for $699, either of which could be added latter. Be careful about going with someone else's sub though because the crossover point is 120hz and lots of subs only go up to 80 or 100hz. Lifetime warranty too.
