Once Blu-ray gets their Java interactive material together will you finally see them released on the format. This is the reason why HD-DVD got them and Blu-ray is still without and it might be a few more months before you see them released too.

If they wait any longer, they'll probably hold off until next year to release it around the time of the sequel. That would not be a good situation. I want this no later than October of this year on BD.

I think Warner is deliberately holding back the non-IME titles to give HD DVD some kind of advantage. I also think that even if BD-J was completed, we still wouldn't see Batman Begins, Matrix, etc. In addition, given how Warner witholds lossless audio on some Blu-ray titles, it's more than quite obviouus which format that really support.

Absolutely. Of course, it's their choice if they want to sh!t where they are going to eat for the next 10 years.

Add Caddyshack to this list as well. Come Warner get with the program. Week ending 5/6 sales were 60%, 40% in favor of Blu Ray. The least you could do is provide equal (spec and non-IME) treatment.

Given the bullsh*t and tactics of Warner, I'm sure they'd have no issue one day re-releasing BD titles such as Happy Feet or Superman Returns as "Special Editions now with lossless audio!" or to the effect.

Or re-releasing them with increased bitrates and the resulting improved PQ.

Not to mention releasing The Matrix on the same exact day as POTC to try and offset some of the bleeding of hd dvd.

They publicly state that they sell a bigger percentage of their HD titles in BD...yet continue to support the inferior format with an obvious bias.

Last year ...I don't remember there being any wait for IME on BD talk at all...not to mention a bunch of titles that don't use these features are still missing from the BD line up.

Warner was one of the best in sd dvd for P/Q...but Sony and Disney are passing them by at this point for HD.

I don't know what Warner's is doing. And the Matrix actually hits BD this fall, it was posted on IGN, I forgot why the delay. Batman Begins is a must have for me. Eventually I'm buying the Samsung Dual Player anyways (bearing the price isn't over a grand) so I'm not too concerned. It would just be nice if WB stepped their BD production game up a bit.

EDIT: Okay, you were all right. I read it on several different websites. It's the BD Java issue that has stopped WB's from releasing titles on BD, not a matter of which format they prefer. It won't matter anyways. By the time they release their titles they'll be in WB's TotalHD format anyways.

IME as an excuse...only accounts for some of the missing titles on BD.

They also have no excuse to not have either PCM or DD THD on all BD releases.

It could not be more obvious....that for whatever reason...they are biased towards hd dvd at this time.

THD ...if released...will most likely flop from a consumer stanpoint as well as from the point of view of stores that defintely do not want to stock yet another slow selling version of HD at most likely even higher costs.

If that's the case, can you please explain to me why non BD-J titles which have been released on HD DVD for a year now have not been released on BD - nor have any announcements for them have been made? In addition, can you please explain to me why certain HD DVD titles get lossless audio, but the BD version doesn't even though there's enough disc space?

Earz--could not agree with you more regarding THD. I for one, will not be purchasing any of the THD discs. I have drawn a line and will no longer purchase inferior "HD" product. Think how badly BR will get the shaft on initial THD discs that are (scheduled to be) single layer sided discs. Warner is not issuing True HD, DTS-MA or PCM audio on dual layer discs, surely they will continue that trend when they revert back to single layer THD discs.
