Mits 52525 Fan noise

224 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  irishrulze
I went ahead and plucked down the $$$$ for a Mits 52525, and I'm starting to regret I did. The most annoying thing is the fan noise coming from it. Its very noticeable at what I would consider "normal" volume levels of everyday prime time TV viewing.

The HD picture looks great, SD is abysmal as expected, though I'm about ready to toss this one back due to the fan noise.

Has anyone had the ability to compare the noise to other sets such as a sammy or a sony?

At normal volume I don't notice the fan noise from our 52725. All projection lamps must be cooled. Right? I haven't compared fan noises of different models I find it difficult to hear at the Electronic stores since there are so many TV crammed together.

It is the other fan noise, the one that cools the cable card electronics (so Mits says) that bothers me. Not that it is loud, because its not, but why does it really need to be on ALL the time. Especially if your not using the CableCard!
They all make noise, if you have a loud fan on a Mits that is audible over normal listening they I would recommend you have service put a new fan kit, there is a chance you got one of the bad fan kits.
