I was reading another forum and discovered that Sears had a price mistake on their website for about a day and a half. they were selling the 55413 and 65413 for about $1000 less than MSRP. I know there were many many orders. Did anyone here get in on this deal and has anyone tried to PM a receipt. I pulled a couple receipts that were posted. I went to 3 of my local Sears and they would not PM because of the website error. I read a few are still scoring on this deal. I thought I would inquire. If anyone in the Dayon- Cincinnati-Columbus area was able to get the TV for the good price let me know.

I'm just south of cleveland and was fortune enough to get in on this deal.

In my case I think I was luckier than some of the others because they PMed me 110% of the website price so my 65413 b4 taxes was $1649. Most of the others just got the pricing mistake of $1799.

You might be able to get that price because the lady who sold me my tv was really cool.

$1,799 is closing in (or potentially below) dealer cost for that TV.

I personally wouldn't sell that TV for that price.

If the website made a mistake, and people took advantage of it, then that's acceptable, but after the fact, there is NO WAY I would match the price. That's just ridiculous.

Why do you think you deserve that price??

he doesn't necessarily deserve it. But there's no harm in trying, and if someone else WILL pricematch it, then he'll be happy.

You're absolutely right.

There is no harm in trying.

Me being upset in this instance has little to do with the person trying to pricematch, and MUCH more to do with the person who posted the receipt in the first place.

These types of shenanigans will make dealers reluctant to negotiate price at all. Jeez, if you negotiate price for Guy A. then he will post the deal he got on the internet, and now you have to give EVERYONE that deal.

like I said, I'm not faulting you for trying to get a good deal.

I understand the desire to get the best product at the best price.

I'm faulting the people who got lucky, and then exploited the situation by posting their receipts on the internet.

Actions like that will be bad for all of us in the long run.

Cost is determined by a lot of factors.

I'll bet Sears has a landed cost of around $1700 on that TV right now.

Mitsubishi will drop landed cost for them, as the model matures, they're very good for that, but upon initial release, dealers will pay a premium for the new models.

That's pretty common.

By this time next year, I'd expect the landed cost to be closer to $1,400-$1,500.

This is all speculation, and I am in no way related to Sears, so I'm just guessing.
