I'm in the early stages of planning a FP setup for my basement. This won't be a fully light controlled room, although it will be fairly dark to completely dark most of the time it's used. I'm planning on a 48 x 85 painted screen, (not sure what paint yet, but probably something grey) with a seating position approximately 12' from the screen. The source will primarily be standard def DVDs on an Oppo DVD player. I've narrowed my choices to the Mits HC1500 and the BenQ W500. I've seen the Mits in person and think it's fantastic, but I'm drawn to the lens shift and the Reon processor in the BenQ. The Mits will work in my room, but the screen would be a little lower than I'd like. The BenQ wouldn't have that problem, but I'm worried about SDE at my viewing distance. Anyone have any experience with these projectors in similar conditions?
