I have Mits 65908. I love it. We also have the SR-HD400 with DirecTV. I have a S video cable going from the receiver to the TV. I have had it about a week. My wife and I was watching FOX New last night and we have it in standard mode and we can not see the Live graphic in the top left hand corner. Also the bottom part of the screen is cut off. When we first got it we would usually watched stuff in expanded mode because standard did not look right. Should the top and bottom part of the screen should it be cut off when watching something in standard mode, when someone is watching basic cable channels or did I screw up a setting, or is that normal?

It sounds like you somehow got into Zoom mode.

Press ACTION then 8. The first time should take you to 4:3; the second time to Expand.

Why are you using a S cable to connect the receiver to the TV rather than the component cables that came with the receiver? The latter are required for high definition reception and will also carry the non HD channels. Look at the installation instructions in the manual.

We don't have any OTA HDTV in my area the KROR in my area has it installed but refuses to turn it on. Go figure! What I am talking about is watching regular DirecTV programming like FOX News or MSNBC when my Mits is in Standard mode it cuts off the top and bottom a little bit. I can not see the bottom stock ticker in standard mode. Is this right. I am switching from S video to component today

No its in standard all right even when I take it into the narrow mode it is still cutting off the top and bottom a little just like a inch and a half on the top and the bottom. Could it be DirecTV's signal? I have some component cable I jut haven't hooked them up yet

Question, why are you not watching the HD receiver in HD? You have to hook up the component to see HBOHD and 199 plus any OTA in your area.

Just for info, my local FOX use to over scan the picture and it would cut off some of the top and bottom. They fix it after about a year. You are not clear on what you are watching OTA or Satellite.
http://www.hdpictures.com/stations2.htm KFOR 4.1 or 27.1 is that fox?
