I have been reading this recently that the xx725 series has only 1 HDMI digital input and it does not have an all digital path . . . which I have heard means that it gets a digital signal then converts it to analog and then back to digital? A couple questions...


1. Does this mean anything as far as PQ? Why is this a detriment to purchasing?


2. For someone like me buying a new upconverting DVD player with a HDMI connection, is it wasteful because of this feature on the Mits?

Since plasmas and DLPs provide the all-digital option (until these displays arrive), it could enhance viewing. DVI is the same as HDMI--just without the built-in audio-transport feature. It's a good idea to minimize digital-analog-digital conversions. -- John
