Besides the cabinets (which makes no difference to me), the only thing I think is different is quadfield focus. Can anyone tell me how much of a difference this is going to make in PQ?

I haven't found a store with both a 413 and 313 on display, so its difficult for me to compare.

I might be able to bump up to a larger screen if I go for the 313...

thanks

It seems on all sizes, going from 313 to 413 is ~$250. You're saying quadfield focus isn't worth that? (That is the only real difference right?)

The 413's seem to get a lot of discussion on here, and no one seems to talk about the 313's much, atleast its not coming up on search.

The biggest difference between the Mits lines is the edge focus and convergence. The higher up the line you go, the better the edge focus as well as the ability to reduce overscan.

In my experience, at 5% overscan. All Mits 7" CRT sets look about the same.

My Mits is bottom of its line (65807), about 3.5% overscan is the best I could achieve with decent edge focus and convergence (and it took hours of geometry work).

I believe the 413 also adds Netcommand support in addition to the nicer cabinet and better focus.

313 is no slouch.

another question:

Is quadfield focus going to make a difference out of the box? Or is it something I have to calibrate? And is a newbie like me going to be able to make much of a difference with that?

sorry for all the annoying questions, thanks for your help guys.
