According to Cine4Home.de, Mitsubishi is going to present new PJ's on IFA (in september).

That is quote from google translate:

"The HC3800, however, marked - in the new design - the entrance into the category of Full HD projectors. It offers a truly great movie for little money and probably the first choice for all home cinema fans with a penchant for rich, deep black levels, which for DLP projectors are so typical. The latest, scattered eliminated DMD technology also provides a bright, high contrast image. The most outstanding feature of the HC3800, however, is its excellent projection relationship with 1,4:1 to 2,1:1 he counts in this discipline to the Spitzenperformern in its class. An impressive DLPProjektoren lamp life of 5000 hours completes the picture of the Topqualitätsgerätes the initial price."

Besides of the two, mentioned in topic title questions, I'm curious about "scattered eliminated DMD technology" too. Is it new DMD chip, or some improvements in light path?

'Scattered light' probably just means reflected light technology, which is what DLP is.

As for this HC3800: They may not even release it in the US. Mits came out with the HC3100 which was a darkchip 3 that outperformed the HC3000, yet for some odd reason, Mits decided to not sell it in the U.S.

Scattered light is an issue of DLPs. Theoretically, if mirror is in off position, light reflected from it should be dim in light dump. In practice, some of the rest light is going into the light path and decreasing contrast and black level.
Thank God !

Mit. is finally coming out with their new DLP projector since I have been holding onto my HC3100 for several years.

But September just seems so far away !!!
I hope these come out in the US. It seems that waiting until September is key with the release of now 3 new supposed inexpensive Full HD pjs. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
Yea I'm so satisfied with my HC3000(other than bulb issues) that I really hope they do and I hope it gets in to the $1,000-$1,300 soon.

What lamp issues do you speak of? I've yet to experience any myself, but i'm curious.
first bulb flicker and burnt out at 1400, new bulb is flickering and missing sticks at 600hrs only a matter of time now till it burns out. I paid $300 for the bulb and Im only going to get 700 hours, not good but a lot of HC1000 and HC1500 haver had the issue too. Theres a thread on it.
I guess i'm lucky. I've had only a bit of flicker, and switching to high lamp mode for a bit fixed that. And i have yet to have any true premature lamp deaths.

You buying oem lamps each time?

1400hrs on the 1st bulb is pretty good in general.

As the other poster mentioned, did you run on high power for a while, switch back, and repeat?
One answer is nearly known, price will be 1,500 euro, according to some europeans sites.
