Mitsubishi LT-55164 TV cannot play just audio, needs video input too?

I have a friend that just bought a Mitsubishi LT-55164. I was trying to hook up his Sony carousel CD player to the TV, but the TV does not recognize the input unless you connect a video signal too. Any way around this? Does anyone make a CD player with multiple CD's that outputs to HDMI a video signal too?

Just get a multi disc DVD player if you can find them anymore.

Unless it has an HDMI output it will not work with the TV. The TV requires that is sees video coming in before in recognizes the input.

Yes, you need to send a video signal with the left/right jacks to get it recognized by the TV.

Hook the DVD player up with the 5 wire component cord. 3 will be for video, 2 audio. The DVD player typically sends a background image to the TV while playing music.
What multiple CD disk players have component video output?
CD players generally don't have any video connections.
How about this one:

It looks like it plays DVD's too and it has what looks like a video connection on the back.
Or this one:

I guess a multiple DVD player that plays CD's is the way to go. Don't know if the one above is the only one that does it.

Nope, that's a digital audio connection

That's what you need. FWIW most people just load their music on a USB drive and plug it into the TV. Much easier if you have your music as MP3's

The TV may even be able to read MP3's off a computer hooked into the same network.
