I found a Mitsubishi 55807 open box locally for $1900, it's in perfect condition. Is this a great deal?

Here is a review

If it's an open box and NOT a floor model, that's not a bad deal. Make sure the warranty starts from the day you take delivery. I had to have my 73905 replaced with a 73907 after one of the guns arced.

This was definitely not a floor model, it has everything with it, the batteries were not even installed into the remote. When we plugged it in and turned it on it started at the set time menu.

just do it.

I bought my 55805 last year for 2800, and I thought I got a deal! If its in as good a condition as you say it is, it should be a good buy.

Sorry to post a possible downer here http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I would definitely check the TV very carefully; an open box RP HDTV is a big SOB and can be damaged both by transit and by misuse of the first owner/user. Check for burnout and anything else you can think of before buying. If all that looks OK, and you can get a reasonable warranty then go for it! http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/smile.gif

I went ahead and got it, the picture sucked (of course) by default. I did quite a bit of tweaking and even ordered the parts to fix the red push problem. It's a big mother though!
